They Don’t Love You Like I Love You

I absolutely love Kate Nash’s “Pistachio Nut.” I’ve always loved language and storytelling, but it was when my best friend Caroline shared this poem with me that I first really connected to poetry. It was this poem that made me want to become a poet.

Shortly after I heard this poem for the first time, I wrote my own version, titled “What I Want My Words To Do To You,” which I will post on here soon. It is inspired loosely by Kate Nash’s original and dedicated to Caroline.

And so this is for Caroline – they don’t love you like I love you.
